WHAT IS FALCON.NET?

Falcon.net, also known as Single Sign On (SSO), is system that enables users to securely authenticate with multiple applications and websites by logging in only once—all with just one set of credentials (your Simmons email, and your SSO password). With SSO, the application or website that the you are trying to access relies on a trusted third party to verify that users are who they say they are.

Simmons Issued Chromebook

A. WiFi. 

First time opening your Chromebook, it will prompt you to connect to your WiFi network.


You MUST connect to a WiFi network, else NONE of these instructions will work!

B.  Email. 

After successfully connecting to the Internet, Chromebook will ask you for your Simmons email address.

No need to enter the @simmonscollegeky.edu portion because that is already filled in.


Students: firstname.lastname – [example: john.doe]

Falculty&Staff: first initial lastname – [example: jdoe]


C. Password. 

First time logging in, you will use the temporary password.

Contact: bit.ly/techsupportscky for the temporary password.

D. One-time Reset. 

You are then prompted to reset this temporary password by having a code sent to your mobile phone. If you need to “reset a forgotten password”, Google will send a reset code to this mobile phone.

E. Logged in. 

You are now connected to your Chromebook Apps.


PERSONAL COMPUTER/CHROMEBOOK

A. Get your password

If this is your first time signing in, you will need to login using the temporary password.

Contact: bit.ly/techsupportscky for the temporary password.


B. Email

You will use your Simmons email address, NOT your gmail address.

Students: firstname.lastname@simmonscollegeky.edu – [example: john.doe@simmonscollegeky.edu]

Falculty&Staff: first initial lastname@simmonscollegeky.edu – [example: jdoe@simmonscollegeky.edu]


C. Logging in

Click the Log In button above.


D. Login screen

If you have personal accounts on your device, you will see the below:



E. Create your Simmons Google account

Enter your Simmons email address and press “Next”


Enter the temporary password:

You will be prompted to change this temporary password to a password you will use from today onward.

You will not use the temporary password again.
