On April 23rd, staff, community leaders, and supporters of Simmons College of Kentucky gathered to celebrate the 5th Annual Race to Greatness event at The Kentucky Derby Museum, on the campus of Churchill Downs. This event is designed to highlight the historical contributions of Black Jockeys. This year included a special presentation of The Simmons College of Kentucky Black Film Institute, who premiered their docuseries “Raising Simmons” during the event.
