HELPING TO FUND THE JOURNEY
STEP Minority Teacher Scholarship
The STEP Minority Teacher Scholarship is a need-based “gap” award of $200 to $2,500 for minority teacher candidates enrolled full-time in our associate or bachelor’s teacher education program. Candidates will submit an STEP Minority Teacher Scholarship Application. We look at a student’s Expected Family Contribution (as determined by the FAFSA), their college financial aid package total, and Simmons’s Cost of Attendance. Candidates can reapply each year up to 5 years from first eligibility if the candidate maintains a minimum 2.75 GPA. Costs we consider are tuition, housing, meal plan, and mandatory fees.
