On July 23, Kroger made a generous $30,000 donation to Simmons College of Kentucky to support the Talon Student Food Pantry. The contribution comes just ahead of the new school year and reflects Kroger’s ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity among college students.

The event began with a warm welcome from Von Purdy, Simmons Vice President of Corporate Relations and Community Engagement, who greeted students, faculty, staff, and the Kroger team. The gathering highlighted the strength of the growing partnership between the two institutions and the shared goal of supporting student success.

Jake Smith, President of Kroger’s Louisville Division, expressed appreciation for the Kroger Associates and Delivery Crew who joined him for the presentation. He also celebrated the continued collaboration with Simmons College, now in its sixth year, and reaffirmed Kroger’s dedication to investing in the communities it serves.

Simmons College President Dr. Kevin W. Cosby thanked Kroger for its consistent support, noting that the company’s total contributions to the college have now surpassed $200,000 since 2019. Together, Simmons College and Kroger are demonstrating what is possible when community partnerships are rooted in purpose, ensuring that students have not only the opportunity to learn, but the resources they need to thrive.
