Only authorized personnel can submit events. You must be approved by your department before placing an event calendar submission.
Even after your event is approved, other events may take precedence over your submission. So, multiple date and time options will be helpful. Keep all event details within your planning committee until officially approved. Since all public events will be displayed and marketed externally, they require an accompanying photo or graphic. If you do not supply an image, a default photo will be chosen for you as a placeholder.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Black Film Institute at Simmons College of Kentucky is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic individual to fill the position of Instructor in the Black Film Institute. The candidate will be responsible for teaching courses that cover a range of topics in Black Film Studies, including theory, application, and the history of film. The instructor should possess a deep understanding of the cultural, social, and historical contexts of Black cinema and be able to engage students in critical analysis and creative exploration within the field.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY
Data management and analysis of database and systems architecture. Compile statistical data from various sources and analyze the results. Working with key stakeholders to design and implement systems and or solutions, while documenting process / workflows and systems requirements. The Institutional System Administrator implements and oversees complex computer and database systems for the College with the goal of increasing efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees database systems development and modification efforts
- Designs and implements secure, efficient, and accurate databases
- Maintains current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices
- Implement data configuration frameworks

POSITION SUMMARY
The Technology Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, installation and ongoing support of instructional and administrative technology. Reporting to the Chief Technology (CTO), the Technology Support Specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting both immediate and non-immediate help calls, providing software training to groups and individuals, assisting in project plans, installing hardware and software, and maintaining technology equipment in all college classrooms, offices and conference rooms. The incumbent will also be responsible for troubleshooting both immediate and non-immediate classroom help calls via Simmons’ MSP’s Ticketing System. The Technology Support Specialist also works collaboratively with members of the academic departments, faculty, and campus leadership on the appropriate and effective integration of technology into teaching, learning and administration. The incumbent will provide instruction, training, and resources to facilitate the use of technology in the classroom and across campus. May also assist in coordinating and directing all activities of technology support for faculty, students and staff on and off campus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with Simmons’ current MSP to provide input in the development of a system-wide approach to support instructors and students with the use of technology supported teaching and learning.
- Investigates and disseminates information on best practices for technology integration, sources of information on trends, research and applications related to technology at Simmons College of Kentucky.
- Manages account permissions, provides access and use of instructions and support for software and equipment.
- Develops documentation and training materials in various formats to support administrative and instructional technologies.
- Provide monthly written reports detailing progress and updates on current projects, activities and ticket resolutions.
- Consults with faculty and other department staff on the identification and implementation of appropriate technology and instructional strategies to meet student learning outcomes.
- Supports faculty in the effective and appropriate use of technology, including multimedia equipment and video editing software to meet curriculum goals.
