Simmons College of Kentucky continues its commitment to enhancing the student experience with the grand opening of The Nest, a brand-new, full-service dining hall launched at the start of the 2025–26 academic year.

Led by Dining Services Director O’Neal Smith and his talented culinary team, The Nest offers daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner through Simmons’ newly established meal plan and card swipe system—bringing convenience, consistency, and accessibility to campus dining.
Students can look forward to a variety of options, including a full buffet-style breakfast and three distinct lunch and dinner stations: Soul Food, The Grill, and The Salad Bar.

Sophomore Charles Wright called the new cafeteria “a great opportunity for social interaction,” while senior Jordan Ponder reflected on the college’s progress: “I’ve watched dining services go from a service cart to a full-service dining hall. This really helps Simmons present a full-on HBCU experience.”

The Nest represents another step forward in Simmons’ growth as Louisville’s HBCU, ensuring students have the resources and environment they need to thrive.
