Simmons College Celebrates Historic NCCAA Mideast Regional Championship Victory
History was made on campus as Simmons College of Kentucky proudly hosted its first-ever NCCAA Division II Mideast Regional Tournament—and our Falcons rose to the occasion in an unforgettable way.
In front of an energized home crowd, the Simmons Men’s Basketball team delivered a championship performance, defeating Boyce College to capture the Mideast Regional title. With the victory, the Falcons have officially punched their ticket to the NCCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Tournament, where they will compete on the national stage next week.
This milestone marks a defining moment for the program—one that reflects the relentless work ethic, preparation, and unity that have fueled the Falcons all season long.
On the women’s side, the Lady Falcons showcased remarkable determination and heart in their matchup against Welch College. After an impressive tournament run, they concluded their season as Mideast Regional Runners-Up. Their grit, resilience, and competitive spirit were on full display, embodying the very best of Falcon athletics.
Hosting the regional tournament—and excelling in it—represents a major step forward for Simmons Athletics. It is big for our program. Big for our campus. Big for Falcon Nation.
Special recognition goes to our student-athletes, as well as Coaches Ruffin and Wheat, whose leadership and commitment continue to elevate the standard of excellence. The discipline, focus, and pride demonstrated throughout the tournament exemplify what it means to represent Simmons College of Kentucky.
As our Men’s team prepares to compete at Nationals, the entire Simmons community stands firmly behind them. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and supporters are encouraged to congratulate our teams and celebrate this historic achievement.
The Falcons are soaring—and they’re not done yet.
Fly Falcons, Fly!
