Master of Science in Medical Science
Welcome to the Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MSMS) program at Simmons College of Kentucky. In partnership with Ponce Health Science University, The Master of Science in Medical Sciences program can help prepare you for a successful career in medicine. In Simmons MSMS program, the course of study aligns with the traditional first year of medical school courses, which will advance your academics, MCAT score, and prepare you for entry into medical school and other medical professions.
Simmons College of Kentucky is excited to extend the opportunity for our MSMS students to study inside of the new, state of the art hospital facility on the campus of Norton Healthcare. Students will not only experience industry standard tools and training, they will also be able to study alongside MD students and Physicians
Admission Requirements
- A 4- year baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
- Official transcripts from all colleges or universities you’ve attended.
- Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale in the following courses:
Biology w/ laboratory - 8 credits
Chemistry w/ laboratory - 8 credits
Organic Chemistry w/ laboratory - 8 credits
Physics w/ laboratory - 8 credits
Mathematics - 6 credits
Behavior and Social Sciences - 6 credits
English - 6 credits
- MCAT scores recommended but not required.
- 1-page personal statement regarding interest
in medicine and service to the underserved.
- 2 letters of recommendation *one letter must come
from one of your undergraduate or graduate professors.

Join us for an open house event showcasing the Master's of Science in Medical Science program on Wednesday, April 10th from 6:00-8 p.m. The event will take place at the Administration & Library building on the campus of Simmons College of Kentucky, located at 1000 S. 4th Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
During the open house, attendees will have the chance to explore the MSMS program with the guidance of Director, Dr. Tashika Carlton.
