It’s Homecoming Season!
Louisville, it’s that time again!
The city’s only HBCU is gearing up for one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year — Simmons College of Kentucky Homecoming 2025, happening November 10–15.
This year’s Homecoming is all about legacy, pride, and culture — and nobody celebrates quite like Simmons. From unforgettable performances to community celebrations, Homecoming Week is set to honor our history, showcase our excellence, and uplift the energy that makes Simmons and Louisville shine.

Monday, November 10
The week kicks off with the Simmons College Career Fair, connecting students with local employers, nonprofit organizations, and alumni professionals. This event is designed to empower Simmons students as they prepare for life after graduation, offering opportunities to network and explore meaningful career paths.
Monday evening brings the Recreation & Bingo Night, a fun and engaging campus gathering designed to bring students together in a relaxed atmosphere. Attendees can look forward to games, prizes, and plenty of laughs — a reminder that Homecoming is about connection as much as celebration.
Tuesday, November 11
The Voices of Victory Chapel Concert fills the air with music and inspiration. This cherished Homecoming tradition showcases the power of faith and fellowship through song, featuring performances by the Simmons College choir and special guest artists.
Join us Tuesday evening for an unforgettable evening at Tiny Desk: Homecoming Edition! Experience the intimate magic of live music in a unique setting that captures the essence of NPR’s beloved Tiny Desk Concert series. On November 11th at 6:00 PM, the A&L Library in Louisville, KY will transform into an acoustic haven featuring performances by talented local artists including Al Green, Chaka Khan, R. Morton, Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, and Mary J. Blige & Michel. This special homecoming celebration brings the celebrated tiny desk vibe to our community, offering an up-close and personal musical experience you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the Tiny Desk format or discovering it for the first time, come enjoy an evening of soul-stirring performances in an intimate library setting. Free admission. Wednesday, November 12
Join us for a comprehensive Health & Wellness Fair hosted by The Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr. Center for Racial Justice at Simmons College of Kentucky in collaboration with Simmons Student Services. This free community event will take place from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the A&L Building, located at 1000 S. 4th Street. Attendees will have access to complimentary health screenings and valuable health information, along with a variety of engaging activities including massages, Zumba sessions, giveaways, interactive games, and health education resources. Whether you’re looking to learn more about your health, participate in wellness activities, or simply enjoy a fun and informative afternoon, this event offers something for everyone. Wednesday night, Students and guests can enjoy the Homecoming Fashion Show, a showcase of creativity and confidence that celebrates individual style and collective pride. Featuring student designers, models, and performers, this event reflects the vibrant self-expression at the heart of the Simmons experience.
Thursday, November 13
Thursday evening is The Coronation of Mister & Miss Simmons College of Kentucky. The HBCU Coronation Ceremony celebrates and honors the newly selected representatives who will serve as ambassadors of Simmons College of Kentucky throughout the academic year. This is the proud tradition of crowning Mister and Miss exemplifies the leadership, academic achievement, service, and character that define the student body and uphold the legacy of this distinguished institution
Friday, November 14
Friday features two major events that highlight the energy and spirit of Homecoming Week.
Homecoming Parade – Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on campus, the parade will feature student organizations, alumni groups, and community partners in a vibrant display of Simmons pride and HBCU culture.
Divine Nine Step Show & Concert – Hosted at Old Forester’s Paristown Hall, this signature evening event will include step performances by fraternities and sororities, along with live music by national recording artists BunnaB and YKNIECE. Hosted by Bella Rae and Chey Nicole, the night promises to be an unforgettable celebration of tradition and unity. Tickets available now.
Saturday, November 15
Homecoming culminates with a day full of community, culture, and competition.
The Black Tailgate Experience – From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Stephen Family Life Center (1508 W. Kentucky Street, Louisville, KY), this inaugural event will bring together students, alumni, and the Louisville community for a spirited pre-game celebration. Guests can enjoy food, music, and fellowship as we honor HBCU pride and culture.
HBCU Double Header – Simmons College will face off against Wilberforce University in a basketball showdown at the St. Stephen Family Life Center. Game times are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
